LEARN Submits Comments to Institute of Education Sciences and National Science Foundation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Learning

LEARN submitted a letter to representatives at the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) and National Science Foundation (NSF) sharing the work that LEARN members are doing with respect to AI in the educational space. This letter provides valuable resources to both agencies as they increase their investments in AI.

LEARN Submits Comments to National Academies of Science panel on “The Future of Education Research at the Institute of Education Sciences in the U.S. Department of Education”

LEARN wrote the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NAS) panel on “The Future of Education Research at the Institute of Education Sciences in the U.S. Department of Education” recommendations on their work as they develop improvements for the Institute for Education Sciences (IES) and its critical work. As Deans of Schools of Education from around the nation, LEARN members offered a valuable perspective on the challenges and successes facing the education research world. This letter is guided by four leading questions asked by the NAS panel: From your position in the field, what are the current knowledge gaps that could benefit from more robust research attention, where are the human capital gaps that could benefit from better or more readily available training, and what kind of training is necessary; how does the field support and sustain mutually beneficial partnerships in education research, and what are the conditions necessary for ongoing partnerships?
